Wow, has it already been 3 months since my last post? I stink at this blogging thing. Anyway, so yesterday was Cael's 9 month birthday! Woohoo! This has been an exciting few months with him. He's a pro crawler already, and he's pulling up and standing on whatever he can reach. You'd think this would be a good thing, but not neccesarily. To me, it means another level of my house that needs to be clean, sanitized and babyproofed. I guess it's just preparation for when he starts walking. He's so sweet though, he's been so much happier now that he has a little more independence. He was being a little rowdy in church today, so I took him out in the hallway and put him on the floor - he took off like a rocket! He crawled the entire length of the hallway on our side of the church, it was so fun to watch! You could tell he just needed to release some of that bottled-up energy.
Something else to share... we finally have our yard done!! It was a rough few weeks when we were working on it (we did almost everything ourselves), but I learned so much that week, and I think it's the hardest I've ever worked over an extended amount of time. Now that it's done, I'm so glad we did it. It's been so much fun! It's so great to look out the back windows and see grass instead of dirt! And, we have a fire pit now, so you know what that means: S'mores! We just had some tonight... I can still taste it, and I can smell the smoke in my hair. I love it so much. We also planted a garden, which has been so much fun. Most of our veggies still have a few more weeks until they'll start producing, but we planted cilantro and strawberries that we're already eating! It's great to go out back and eat food right from the plant.
