One more day!

Ok, so we finally have something exciting to post... We're having a baby tomorrow!! We scheduled with the hospital to be induced on Friday, so we're going in at 5am. Hopefully we'll make quick progress and have him by the afternoon, but really - anything can happen. So for now, we're just doing last minute preparations and waiting for the big day! It's pretty crazy - I could be a mommy by tomorrow! I can't believe it!

Still here!

So... we made it another week and still no baby. It's not like I really mind waiting THAT MUCH, but it's just weird because we got our hopes up last week and then nothing happened. We went to my appointment yesterday and he said nothing had changed, which is kinda what I had been feeling. After monday my contractions really slowed down, so I was expecting something like this. The problem is, this week is Girl's Camp, so both sets of parents will be gone. Cameron's mom is Stake Camp director and my mom is in the Stake Young Women's presidency, so it might me a little more complicated for them to leave. I just hope he can wait one more week!

The good news is, Dr. Erickson said that from this point on we can choose to be induced whenever we want. So, if nothing is happening by our next doctor's appointment we'll probably start talking about it. Anyway, maybe someday soon we'll have something more exciting to post! :)

Just around the corner...

I've been putting off updating my blog for a while now, because so much has happened in the last few months and I didn't know how to explain it all. So, forgive me for disappearing for a while. I'm back now and I'm gonna try and fill you in on what's been happening in our lives (the SHORT version, hopefully).

So, I've graduated to the weekly doctor visits, and it seems like things are moving really fast with the baby. Last week I was dilated to 2cm and this week I'm at 4 and 75% effaced, so the doctor said he may not last out the week. We're so excited! I can't wait to meet our little boy and see what he looks like. It's all so surreal, it's hard to believe I'm gonna be a MOM in a few days. Totally weird.

We have a few names picked out for him, but we haven't nailed it down to just one yet. His middle name is definitely going to be Dean, after Cameron/Grandpa Davis. For his first name, we're going back and forth between Cael, Luke, and Bruce. Cael is the current favorite because it's a little more original and it's a family name - we found it in one of Cameron's geneaology books. We would LOVE any input about it. Names have been probably one of the hardest thing to do so far. I didn't think it would be this difficult, but it's a lot of pressure, giving someone a name they'll have the rest of their life!

So, another exciting thing that's happened is that we bought a house! We're living in Goodyear now, and we absolutely love it. Our ward has been so wonderful - everyone has made a special effort to reach out to us and make friends, and our relief society presidency is absolutely wonderful. I love it, and I know it's going to be a great place to raise our son. We're so excited. The house itself is coming along pretty well. Closing on it was something of a nightmare, and is part of the reason I didn't want to blog for a while. My entries would not have been very happy. But, we're on the tail end of it now and everything did work out, just like we knew it would. We had our doubts at times, but through it all we learned a lot about the power of faith, hope and prayer. It wasn't exactly a fun experience, but I'm so glad we went through it - it has definitely made us a stronger family, and prepared us for what's coming with the baby. Things will only get harder from here. :)

So, that's it in a nutshell. My pregnancy has been really great so far. It's starting to be pretty uncomfortable, but compared to a lot of other women I've had it really great. I've been so blessed to have a normal healthy pregnancy, and I'm just hoping the birth will go just as well. I love our little boy already, and we can't wait to meet him! I've stopped working now, so hopefully I'll have a little more time to devote to my blog and keep everyone updated with what's going on with our lives. Depending on baby's cooperation, our next post could be a birth announcement! :)

So much for making this a short post. Anyway, here are some more recent ultrasound photos - a little teaser for what's to come!

These two pictures were from our 30 week 3D ultrasound. We think he's pretty handsome. :)
