We had our second official ultrasound last week, and we are happy to announce...
j It's a BOY!!! j

We are SO EXCITED! Cameron has known it was a boy from the beginning, but it took me by suprise. It's so exciting though, it definitely makes it feel more real knowing the gender already. It's not as abstract as it used to be, I think.

We weren't actually supposed to have our ultrasound for another month, but Dr. Erickson just snuck us in real fast to do a "sex check". So, we'll probably have more pictures next month -he said that's when they'll be checking all the fingers and toes and everything, basically just making sure everything's all there and working correctly. Until then, here are some pictures of our little boy!!

You can see his little face here - it looks a litle like a turtle because it doesn't show his nose, but other than that we think he's pretty handsome!

A side view - if you look close you can see his spine! On the big screen you could see all of his vertebrae, it was awesome.
DEFINITELY a boy. Here's your proof if you don't believe us. :)

It was amazing how much his little legs were moving during this shot, he almost never stops squirming!

4 months and counting...

Well, it's been a while since I've posted (yet again...), so I thought I'd give everyone a quick update. I'll be four months along on Monday!! I'm so excited. Everything's been going wonderfully these past few weeks. I'm completely over the whole morning-sickness thing, so the only problems I'm having to deal with is back pain and heartburn. That isn't as big a deal for me though, because I've pretty much had to deal with those my whole life, it's just a little more intense than usual. I would much rather have a sore back than be throwing up.

So, I've gotten my appetite back, and I'm finally starting to gain some weight! I've really started to poke out in this last week. We don't have any pictures yet, but I'll post some as soon as we remember to take them. :) We got to feel the baby move last night too, we were so excited! So far the only times I've felt it was late at night when I'm laying flat on my stomach. It's only happened a few times, but It's so amazing. I can't wait for the baby to get bigger so I can feel it more, it's such a comfort feeling him/her in there, knowing everything's still okay. I love being pregnant... right now, at least. I might not have said the same thing a few months ago. :)

I have my next doctor's appointment on Tuesday, wish us luck!

The first of many baby pictures.

We had our first ultrasound this morning! It was so awesome, you could actually see and hear the baby's little heart beating! It's still pretty blurry - the baby's pretty little still - but it was so great to know everything is okay. And we DEFINITELY put to rest the worry that I was carrying twins. :) Anyway, I thought I would share the picture of our little gummy bear!
I am exactly 8 weeks today, and everything is right on schedule! The baby has definitely grown since our last appointment, and seems to be perfectly healthy, which we are so grateful for. The nurse said the heart was beating at 167 beats per minute! Crazy. We love our little peanut already!

What a week!

These past few weeks have been absolutely crazy for our family. We're trying to get ready for Hong Kong, and we have to get done with ALL our Christmas stuff in half the time as normal. We got to put up our Christmas decorations last week, and we had a blast! It's our first Christmas together, and we are SO excited. I love putting up the Christmas decorations. Here are some fun pics of Cameron putting the star on the tree...

...and messing around in between, of course. :)

This is my favorite ornament. Me and Cameron went to Disneyland for our honeymoon and bought this - it's our "first Christmas together" ornament. It's so cute!

So, we're leaving day after tomorrow for Hong Kong, and I sure hope we can get everything done by then. I'm so excited for the trip, I just have to learn how to overcome morning sickness in 24 hours.... any suggestions? :) Wish us luck!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Life will never be the same...

So... by now I think we've established how bad I am at keeping up with my blog. So, to make up for my neglect, I have something really exciting to share... we're having a baby!! We found out the week of Thanksgiving, and I'm already 7 1/2 weeks along. Right now I'm feeling pretty good, I'm just starting to get over the "morning" sickness, (more like "all-day" sickness, if you ask me....) which is awesome considering I'm not even out of my 1st trimester yet. It's a very good thing though, because our trip to Hong Kong is coming up NEXT WEEK! I really wasn't looking forward to being sick all week in China. I think Heavenly Father is definitely looking out for us. :) Oh, the power of prayer.

...and, I'm completely obsessed with these pregnancy countdown things. I have at least 3 email subscriptions coming to me every week about how big the baby is and different things. I added the little pregnancy ticker to the side here, I think it's awesome to see what our baby is supposed to look like. It makes it feel a little more real. I am excited for when it starts to look like an actual baby though, instead of an alien/reptile.

So, we have our 1st real ultrasound next monday, and I will definitely keep you posted... now that we have something exciting to write about! :)

I'm a Bella!!

I am SO EXCITED for Twilight to come out in a few weeks! In honor of that, I took this fun quiz from Natalie's page. Stay tuned for more updates, I promise I'll get around to it sooner or later... :)

I'm a Bella! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!

You are observant, diplomatic and often aim to please. You are unaware of your
attractiveness and despite being uncomfortable with any form of attention, people enjoy your company. You can be impatient, stubborn and headstrong, but you are true to your word and mature for your age, often taking care of your family and enjoying a good book over chatting with girlfriends on the phone.

On Our Own...

So, we finally have our own place! We moved this past weekend into the casita (or cottage, as me and Cameron are calling it) in Natalie and Jason's backyard. It's pretty little, but we love it! I think that as soon as we get all our things unpacked and organized, it'll be perfect for us. We're so grateful to the Peck's for letting us stay in their house these past few months, but we're glad to be in our own home with all our furniture and decorations in it. We really felt like this is where Heavenly Father wants us to be, and we're so glad we made this decision.

It's funny, me and Cameron have been saying that we feel like we're roughing it and that we're spoiled all at once. It's a pretty small place and we're having to make a lot of adjustments, but there are a lot of perks to the cottage too! We have satellite TV with DVR for one, and we don't have to shout across the house to each other all the time. It takes much less energy to cool this house, so we're not sweating all the time, and we get to play with Kolsen and Callie whenever we want! :) These past few days have been so great, we're really looking forward to spending the next few months here until we can afford to buy our own house. Thanks for putting up with us, Natalie and Jason!

I don't really have a lot of time to update the blog because I work all day, so I never posted our campout pictures! Better late than never though, right? We got a new camera a few days before the campout, so I was having a LOT of fun taking pictures. :) Here are a few of our favorites:

Me and Cameron in front of "The World's Largest Kokopelli" in Camp Verde. We felt like such tourists...I spilled some Jones soda in the car on the way up. And this is Cameron, cleaning up after me. :) He's such a good husband....and this is me, covered in soda.Kolsen: "don't mess with my cheese stick."

I finally gave in...

Alright everyone, I finally gave in to this whole "blogging" thing. So... welcome! Cameron and I got married on January 5th, and we are loving the "married life". Right now we're actually house-sitting for an older couple in our ward who went on a mission. It's nice to be able to save money right away, but the house feels a little big for just two people!! It's great though, because we're in the same ward as a lot of our family, so we get to spend a lot of time with them.

Our life is pretty simple right now... I have a job in the billing department of a physical therapy office, and Cameron's going to nursing school and doing a few landscape jobs a month. We love living so close to both our families and getting to see all the nieces and nephews, we love spending time with them!

Well, I hope you enjoy our blog, and just bear with me for a little while, I know it's not pretty yet. I'm still trying to figure out how to customize everything. Have a great day!
